Re: Asking father for bankroll
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Your problem is that you can't keep a bankroll. Repeatedly having to build your bankroll should suggest that this is your problem. Your stats might tell you how well you play (or not), but bankroll is very straightforward. You need to have a certain number of buy-ins in your bankroll in order to minimize the chance of going broke. If you are a bad player, then no bankroll is big enough. Just because you "want" to play at a certain level, doesn't mean you have the bankroll to do so. [/ QUOTE ] How is that a problem if I cashout my bankroll and willingly start over with 50.00 a week later. [/ QUOTE ] Um, if it wasn't a problem... this thread wouldn't exist. |

Re: Asking father for bankroll
No, the problem is him allowing me a bankroll for a set limit. He is not a poker player and knows little about how much people are making(especially 2+2ers).
This post is about me having a stable limit and playing there. Not running up and down limits to adjust for my bankroll. |

Re: Asking father for bankroll
If it is your money, then why is he taking it? If it is his, then earn yourself a roll and play.
This post is pointless. Can it please be deleted? SWUSC |

Re: Asking father for bankroll
I think that you guys are confused. ZebraAss is a very good SNG player and has won (profited) over 20,000 since he started playing. When he says "bust" he means that he lost the 50 or 100 bucks he left himself after cashing out 5000. What we consider "bust" is to lose everything you have, and obviously that isn't what is happening with him.
If I were you, Zebra, I would tell my father to give me MY money, and that I can be SELF SUFFICIENT and do as I see fit. If you are old enough to win 20k, I think you should be old enough to handle your own affairs. 18 is old enough that your parents shouldn't have direct access to your funds (except to deposit ) |

Re: Asking father for bankroll
It is very obvious that most people on these forums do not understand what is going on.
I would suggest moving to a site that has $5.50 SNGs and start with $100, cash out $100 when you hit $200, and don't cash out again until you get to $50+5... As long as you maintain 20-30 buyins per level you should be fine. You should avoid asking your dad for the bankroll for $50+5 because of the possibility of having a downswing occur when you start out. You should also buy Pokertracker so you can show your dad your stats. If he is investing in stocks he should be more than capable of understanding your standard deviation and ROI results -- I am surprised you haven't explained how you 'beat' poker to him though, considering stocks are a very similar situation... |

Re: Asking father for bankroll
You'll have to kill your dad...there is no other way. Seriously, tho it depends. Do you see why?
