Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Actually, I'd say Ulnar compression is actually fairly high on the differential, if so the pain is due to you compressing your ulnar nerve underneath your elbow when you lean on them to type, this would fit well with the location you described

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Hmm, hard to say, since no matter what I do my elbow hurts nowadays... fyi, I feel like my grip strength in my right hand is weaker now than in my left. Like I feel like I don't hold a glass in my right hand as hard as I used to, or as hard as I could in my left....

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Your symptoms are most compatible with ulnar nerve compression which results in numbness/tingling in the small finger and half of the ring finger. Sometimes elbow pain is noted as well. Carpal tunnel syndrome should result in numbness/tingling of the thumb, index finger, long finger, and half of the ring finger but usually does not include elbow pain.
Try to identify times where you are placing pressure along the inner half of your elbow as these situations should exacerbate your symptoms. If you can eliminate pressure on the ulnar nerve at the elbow, your other symptoms should dissipate. Anti-inflammatories may help but eliminating the mechanical cause (pressure) should do the trick. |

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
i love the "big ball" approach with the kensington because you can vary the way you actually move it as well. it's symmetrical for perfect left-handed usability too. when i first got it i had a right hand mouse and tried using the trackball as much as i could tolerate it on the left. i switched to right-handed trackballing and never went back, only took a day or two of adjustment (and i'm a guy that's been using a keyboard/mouse like 10 hours per day for the last 10 years).
