Re: MIT Blackjack
You need that much because of swings? The bet limits are 5-200$

Re: MIT Blackjack
You need a bankroll that big to keep the chance of losing it all under 20%. I wouldn't think of doing it without a bank 20x that size.
Wait until you start slapping down your "big player" max bets, and the dealer flips a couple of Ten Up blackjacks in a row on you, or every time you get a good max bet count you immediately get dealt a hard 16. Drop a couple of grand doing that, and then we will talk about variance. Most big players look for "surrender" as the most ideal rule, for the above reason. That way you only lose your money half as fast! |

Re: MIT Blackjack
I wouldnt even start thinking about counting solo with less than 10k and that would just be green chip play at the most. I think you need something like 40-50k to play black chip as a team.

Re: MIT Blackjack
I know a few former students that were on the team. They all claim that they didn't make very much money. Suprise: the story was a stretch of the truth. I'm certain that the book's author made far more money selling the book than they ever won in Vegas.

I looked over the blackjack tables at the indian casinos around here, and they are basically unbeatable, even if you could count cards perfectly. The betting range is small, and every casino edge is taken. The people who play don't have a clue either way, they might as well give the house a max edge. I don't know if it is this way in all indian casinos. They definitely don't play like the bigger casinos in Vegas though, at least in my experience. It has already been said, but if you can assemble a team and a bankroll, you might as well whore online poker, online casinos, or online sportsbooks. *Gulp*. Yes, I said it. (The *Gulp* was because online teams will be the next "Bringing Down the House", IMO) |
