Re: TJ suited on the button
I see your point. Of course the villain could pot the turn when you raise flop. But if you can assume that you have 15 outs you can call a pot sized bet. 15 outs gives you about 1:2 to make your hand on the next card which is the pot odds you getting against a pot sized bet.
If the villain has a set or two pair then you may not have 15 outs, but then you may not want to be all in on the flop either. |

Re: TJ suited on the button
[ QUOTE ]
Big draws like this prefer to be all in because if opponent stop and go's you all in on the turn, you are in a very rough spot. Also if you flatcall the flop and villian pops the turn for pot it is generally a bad idea to call. [/ QUOTE ] Hero would be getting 2-1 on the turn if he flat calls and villain pots turn. Since hero is 2-1 to improve, calling on the turn would be a GOOD idea in your hypothetical situation, esp because he can win a bet on the river. |

Re: TJ suited on the button
Why do you think he bet the 5? Buying it; weak value betting; looking to get reraised? It seems he liked his hand on the flop.
