Re: B&M Story part 2: The YID
Hey this sounds like the things I say when I play live. No wonder all those Commerce 9/18 players have made it their goal to suck out on me.

Re: B&M Story part 2: The YID
[ QUOTE ]
Do you often take notes at the table? Does anyone comment on it? [/ QUOTE ] This was only the second time I took notes at the table. But, and this is something I should have included in the story, the YID noticed I was taking notes. He saw me writing something after our JTs hand, and he goes, "What is that, are you putting me on your kill list?" My what? Um, no. I'm not putting you on my kill list. "Because did you ever see that movie Billy Madison? In Billy Madison he was putting people on his kill list, and that's what I thought maybe you were doing! Haha." Actually, YID, that's a pretty good idea... |

Ok, so you know the acronym might be considered offensive.

[ QUOTE ]
Look up the term he uses for the player. [/ QUOTE ] Honestly, I hadn't even thought to pronounce Y.I.D. as "yid," so there was certainly no offense intended to Jews (of which I am one, of course). I don't think I've heard anyone utter the word "yid" in so long (I left anti-Semitism behind when I departed the great metropolis of Kansas City) that it never even crossed my mind. I was just making up an acronym, and pronouncing it "Why-Eye-Dee" in my head. |
