Re: Better Poker In Less Than 30 Seconds (Part 1)
call but it's extremely close. because it was 30 seconds i couldnt calculate exact EV but it seemed to be a call. working through it now, ignoring KK, you just look at your EV of AA v AK... 6 ways to have 20% and 8 ways to have 75% seems to work out greater than 50... (6(.2) + 8(.75) )/14 = .514. i have no idea if this is how you calculate it but if it is then that seems right...

Re: Better Poker In Less Than 30 Seconds (Part 1)
KK vs AK is 68%, not 75%.

my numbers
someone let me know if this is wrong, I took some time to crunch it out:
EV of AA vs. KK is (101.5*.17) - 100*(.82) = -64.75 EV of KK vs AK is (101.5*.69) - 100*(.31) = 39.03 8 ways he can have AK and 6 ways he can have AA, so ((6/14)*39) - ((8/14)*64.75) = -20.52 not as close as some other people posted, am I doing something wrong. intuitively this seems right to me. |
