Re: Trouble with TPGK (KQs)
[ QUOTE ]
Good chance we have the best hand. Good chance villain is drawing. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with this totally. And his turn bet reenforces this read. But supposing he does have a draw or a worse hand, we want him to make a mistake by making a bad call. A push is going to encourage him to fold. I don't want to root for a fold -- I want to root for a bad call. Although, given stacks, a perfect bet might be impossible. I'd still try to make it 25, though. We're just as potstuck as if we had pushed, but we have a better chance of a bad call. |

I don't see villain folding anything here. |

Re: Trouble with TPGK (KQs)
I would not raise here preflop but I don't mind it.
On the turn half your stack is in the pot, you have a good hand, any better hand is going to get all in against you, and you have a very vulnerable hand. You are pot commited, so go all in. I would have called preflop to keep the pot small and allow myself to fold if I flop top pair. |

Re: Trouble with TPGK (KQs)
I raise all in. I'm insta-called by AK. I lose. I was thinking maybe I play these TPTK hands too fast/hard. As of late, I've been getting my ass raped.
Am I under the wrong when thinking that TPTK at these stakes is almost always golden? |

Re: Trouble with TPGK (KQs)
The lower the stakes the more OFTEN your hand is beaten. Also, the more often your hand is CALLED BY A WORSE HAND.

Am I under the wrong when thinking that TPTK at these stakes is almost always golden? [/ QUOTE ] In my opinion, yes that's incorrect thinking. Just becasuse the opponents are weak doesn't mean the hands they show down are weak. In fact, I'm with Kathleen -- it's usually quite the opposite. Isn't that why the popular advice on 2+2 is to nut puddle at the low stakes games? Becasue you need to have the best hand to win? |

Re: Trouble with TPGK (KQs)
I suppose I was wrong then. Yes, I try to nut peddle, just because many of the players at 25NL (as I am learning) are very very loose. Thanks for comments.

Re: Trouble with TPGK (KQs)
With c44% of your stack already in the middle, you have no room IMO to fold. Your options now are either to call or fold. I would just push here and try to make it harder on the straight and flush draws to call you. (although they will most of the time)
