The CO appears to have an overpair on the flop, maybe 88 or 99? Your cap scares him into thinking you have a set or an overpair to him. Looks like he played it ok to me if that is the case.
As far as your play, I must admit that I am a bit confused. Why are you raising preflop? Also, the flop raise seems really out of line with a gutshot and BD flush draw. And why cap the flop? The turn bet is also not necessary. No one is folding in a pot this size, particularly the CO, so why bet? |

Maybe I didn't amke my conclusion clear:
If we're up against a well playing tag (Bodhi) then betting the flop is correct, since he'll be holding far more hands he'll check than bet. If we're up against an unknown player or a player with tagish stats we should we should check/raise, since most players autobet this flop. |

His play looks reasonable to me. So he bets his A5, you raise your JJ and the BB folds his AT and the A5 picks up 2 more outs against you. He tried to do what he could to free up more outs. Sometimes you will have AK or whatever and will just call and sometiems he will be the only one with Ax, but his intentions seem good in this spot.
Brad Edit: I pretty much hate a turn check/raise here. What if the button makes it 3-bets and knocks out the other 2 players? That would be terrible. We will probably be able to get a check/raise in on the river when we hit our running [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]'s since the button won't fear that hand from us (or anyone else for that matter) after we 3-bet the flop. I like getting my $$$ in with a flush much more then with a flush draw. |
