The above is quite good. However, My top 5 in order would be:

1. Temperament (you need to have the right attitude and personality)
2. Game Selection (including type, limits, table and position selection)
3. Discipline (including bankroll and time management)
4. Periodic review (finding leaks etc.)
5. Continuous improvement (reading, posting, seeking advice etc.)

technical understanding would be around number 16 - the technical understanding required to play poker successfully is tiny compared to most other decent games of skill - unfortunately mainstream poker theory is obssessed with the technical aspects of the game which fits neatly with my view that mainstream theorists lack sufficent 2, 3, and 5 on my list

i was thinking about honesty when you evaluate what you have done and what your going to do - its very easy to make a convincing argument when talking/thinking about poker - way harder to come to an honest/objective view

I think that is an extremely important and often overlooked point. And also a real hard one to master. If an otherwise gifted player is lacking severely in this area it can be his downfall.
