Any method you've heard for sobering up quickly is probably a myth

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, that pretty much sums up the contributions I was going to make to this thread. And unlike what I would have written, it is concise.

This is true. It was even on the card the cops handed out to me in High School. It had a table with 4 seperate columns based on weight, that showed how a certain number of drinks affected you.

Myth: Insisting on drinking expensive imported or hard to find micro brews at a bar does not make you cool.

Fact: It makes you look like a pompous douche bag

[/ QUOTE ]

Fact: It's better to look like a pompous douche than drink beer that tastes like iced piss.

Last night I discovered that there really isnt any deer blood in a bottle of Jager, a fact which I had taken for true my entire drinking career.

[/ QUOTE ]

Surely my favorite philosopher didn't actually think that there was deer's blood in Jager, did he?

I'll leave you with something that could have been a myth, but actually isn't:

Guinness contains a fair amount of thiamine, which should in theory reduce your chances of getting wernicke's encephalitis or korsakoff's dementia. Drink up!

On a related note, I've been told that "bull's blood" wine actually contains bull's blood. This is of course, ridiculous, but some people seem convinced it's true.
