Exactly, if Il is so bad, then why are we aiding his people. If history has shown us anything, it's that hungry people quickly become rebellious people. So in effect if we cut off the aid,we can destabilize and maybe overthrow a reportedly dangerous regime without risking the life of a single American.

Perhaps, but the very reason these people are starving is because the aid meant for them is going to people loyal to Kim Jong Il who happen to have guns. Lots of guns.

Although I suppose one could argue that if all aid is cut off, then the army won't be fed as adequately and may join a rebellion.

If we cut off aid the Chinese would be pissed off because all the North Korean refugees who would flee to China. I suspect the Chineses would make sure the North Korean army stayed fed so they would continue to make effective guards to keep people from leaving.

slamdunkpro says pyongyang wants their people killed.

HtotheNootch supports the position that it should be the policy of the us government to see that the north korean people continue to starve.

i don't know what to add here. perhaps, "things look bad for you if you're north korean"?

the north koreans don't want their people to starve. they have pride. but they still don't want people to starve. help them save their people while letting them save face, and, in my opinion, that would go a long way. and they would be much more willing to respond and negotiate other points.

so, yes.
