"Sen. Reid et al are going to quickly realize, if they don't already, that legalizing Internet gambling doesn't have a prayer, and thus to avoid fighting a battle they can't win (and to appease the religious Right), they may jump on the anti-IG bandwagon."
Reid gets reelected with 30%+ margin. He doesn't need to cater to the right. His opponent made a point of "his" religion being a major part of his life and values. MS Sunshine |

From what it looks like, internet gambling will probably come to Nevada eventually, perhaps even in 2005 or 2006 (from reports at Igaming news). I'm not sure if it will just be for people in Nevada or for foreign citizens as well (they will for sure restrict access to Americans in other states).
I am sure protecting this is #1 to the Nevada casinos, and Senator Reid is not going to want a broad, anti-internet gambling bill that would jeopardize this. |
