MGM is not very close to Paris.
It would probably be 30 minutes walking I would guess (so obviously a cab would be better).

Paris is right across the street from Bellagio and is very near Mirage....but they don't have the low buy-in tourneys there that you seem interested in.
I'm sure there are other rooms in the Paris vacinity with low buy-in tourneys.
But if you are determined to play the one at the MGM it's going to be a bit of a hike from the Paris hotel to get there.

Even so....staying at the Paris instead of NY is definitely a no-brainer.

Aladdin has some low-buy in tourneys in the morning. I can't remember the details of them, but I think that on some days they were in the $50 range, and on some days $100.

And I don't think Paris to MGM would be a 30 minute walk...maybe 15-20? But time does fly when I'm walking the strip, so I could be wrong....

Th monorail stops at Bally's so you take it to the MGM if you want to walk (time to MGM poker room is probably the same).

Imperial palace also has some low buyin tourneys ($50+5 I think) 1 or 2 times a day, ~30 people the one time I did it.

Walking from MGM to Paris is a 20-30 minute trek and not too bad when it's cool. I'd be concerned about walking back at 2AM though... some shady characters hanging out near the 97cent souvenir strip centers between Paris and MGM. Cab ride is about $6.

NY,NY should have a poker room and have people dressed up as cops come in every hour and confiscate everyone's money.

Their "underground" themed room is set to open in early 2006. You have to be referred to play and it will be located behind an unmarked door near the casino's office area.

Both are a reasonable walk from MGM, but NY NY is right across the street.

Paris has a poker room, and so does bally's, which is basically part of the same casino. While paris room is not that busy, bally's is usually very hopping late at night. It's possible to get a poker rate at paris or bally's.

NY NY has no poker room. But they do have ESPN zone, which kicks ass.

Just recently stayed at the Paris. Really nice. Has a small poker room (well really just a cleared out area on the casino floor), played 1-2NL and game was extremely soft.

Bally's is connected to the Paris and Aladdin is right next door, both also have poker. Ballys definitely has some low-limit tourneys and I'm almost certain Paris had just started one in the evening also, but I didn't play in it. MGM is about a 10-15 min walk.

Don't miss the Paris breakfast buffet!
