I would call this down, you mention the cold caller...i'm not scared of him one bit. Having him in the pot makes me MORE likely to call down, reason being hes most likely hands IMO are a flush draw or he is one the many calling stations that i've come across at 5/10 short. I really do think CO is acting as a buffer for you in this hand.

Yeah, CO's presence pushes this towards a call, not vice versa.

I don't like it. I would have called down. The cold caller could also have a 5, a flush draw or an OESD. I think you'll often see CO 3bet the turn with a 4. As for BB I think giving him credit for a 4 is too much credit, he could have easily called your preflop raise with K9, KT, KJ, KQ or he could be playing a really funky mid pocket pair. I think this is a clear call down. However if the river action went bet-raise, I could find a safe fold. (this is all against unknowns).

It is almost obscene how often the bb here has a hand that you beat. He might be playing this exact line with a weaker king or any pocket pair, trying to build a large pot with a flush draw - really a gigantic range of hands. With no reads of significance in a pot that is this size before any bets go in on the turn I think it is about 99% mandatory to call this down at the very least. I think this is a terrible fold.

My assumption was that the K would be a BIG scare card for them. Is this faulty thinking? [/ QUOTE ] I think it's faulty because you don't have any reads on them. If you knew they were thinking players then the King could look like a scare card (hell, BB could even be check-raising a scare card if he was trying to be tricky) - but without reads it's hard to say how the King changes the hand from your opponents perspectives. It also may not mean a damn thing. |

Save the big folds for when you have a read.
No matter what he has it isnīt played very well, so since this guy doesnīt play good poker, maybe he can do this with a king ? maybe on a bluff ? how was your image ? |
