Re: How beatable are the 1/2. 2/4 Crypto games?
To answer your posts title...VERY.
[ QUOTE ] After 6,000 hands at the 1/2 Crypto sites I've won $3. These hands were all full ring. I know thats a small sample size but its taken several months to get that many hands specifically at Crypto. [/ QUOTE ] In 250+ hours at Crypto 1/2, I am winning about 2.5 BB/table hour. Since I play 4 tables, I'm winning very close to $20/hr at 1/2. I only have ~50 hours at 2/4 so far and I am only winning 0.75BB/table hr there so far. But I am very confident I am on a so-so run and that my true rate at the 2/4 will be in the range of 1.5 - 2 BB per table hour. Lately, I have been playing 1/2 6-max instead of the full ring games. In just 35 table hours, I have won at a rate of 2.75 BB per table hour. None of these are huge sample sizes (even the 1/2 only works out to something like 14K hands. But I think they are indicative of sustainable rates for these games. [ QUOTE ] It seems that all the whoring friendly sites (Crypto, Prima, Absolute) all play relatively the same, very weak tight with nobody wanting to put money at risk. In comparison I would rate a typical 1/2 Crypto player similar to a Party 5/10 full ring player, though less aggressive. [/ QUOTE ] Then maybe I should be playing Party 5/10! :^) [ QUOTE ] I'm wondering if I should just join the weak tight fest and purposely try to break even? [/ QUOTE ] Just because you are playing against weak-tight opponents, there is no reason for YOU to be weak-tight. If you know how to work against weak-tight opponents, there are a lot of opportunities for profit. Acme |

Re: How beatable are the 1/2. 2/4 Crypto games?
Well that certainly gives me hope. I probably really need to focus on my blind play. If you dont mind me asking what is your VP$IP at the crypto's? I started out really aggressively trying to steal blinds and making position bets post flop because the tables were so tight it seemed they would be folding alot postflop also. It seems however that they are more than happy to just call down with any peice of the board once they see the flop.
Anymore its very rare not to get donk bet or checkraised on the turn when I PFR. Between that and blind steal wars I consider these games pretty tough. |

for low limit crypto and bonus clearing, 6-max is definitely more lucrative than full ring. also consider some $1/2 stud.

[/ QUOTE ] I typically find these games to pretty tight. When I pre-flop raise and get bet into or check raised on the flop, I tend to fire back at them (assuming I have anything). Tight players will usually back down or often even fold. unless they have something. If not, depending on the strength of my hand I go into call down. Obviously I lose some big hands with this line, but the ones I win are usually larger and more frequent. Even on these typically tight table there are some wild bettors and it's amazing how often some one will raise and show me down with a pair of 8's or J high or something silly like that. |

As far as full ring games go, the Cyrpto's completely suck. It is not worth your time to sit around and steal blinds, you can make more at Walmart or McDonalds.
I am investigating the 6 max tables but my sample size is way to small, so the jury is still out. |

Re: How beatable are the 1/2. 2/4 Crypto games?
I have played a lot of Crypto 2/4 $ and full ring seems to be hard to beat after rake. Were are mainly TAGs and TPPs playing for bonuses.
On the other hand short-handed 2/4 $ is pretty soft and very beatable. I think there is no reason play full ring on Crypto. Just learn how to play short-handed. Situation is pretty much same in Pokerstars. 2/4 $ full ring is pretty tight compared to Party (but not complete rock garden like Crypto), while 2/4 $ short is pretty soft and very beatable. |

Your best bet is the 2/4 game. I usually play 1/2 when Im clearing an hourly, but I was forced to switch to 2/4 for the Interpoker (YES I PLAY POKER TO CLEAR THE INTERPOKER BONUS...SUE ME) bonus and things have worked out quite well. I wish I had signed up with a [mentionable] beforehand though...

Who cares what your win rate is when you get an extra 6-7 BB/100 bonus?
That said, at Crypto $1-$2, I have won 3.5 BB/100, and at Crypto GBP 1-2, I won a bit more. These games are definitely beatable. There are a lot of bonus whores, but in general, bonus whores who play 1-2 limit do not play well. |
