Re: trains from nyc to ac
Amtrak to Philly is more like $110 round trip. You can take NJT/Septa to Philly, but that will make the trip to AC more like 4-5 hrs.

NJ Transit NY Penn to AC (transfers in Trenton and Philly) is $25.75 and takes about 4.5 to 5 hours total.

Re: not all of htem are that way

The point is, once you put the voucher in the slot machine, the machine registers the credits, then if you cashout of the machine you get a cashable slot voucher. Just like if you put currency in and then hit cashout. [/ QUOTE ] That doesn't actually work. Most of these vouchers only let you keep your winnings -- i.e., they keep separate track of your initial credit and your winnings. You can only cash out the latter portion. |

It\'s 20 bucks....
you really gonna live it up on 20 bucks? just roll it in the slot and hope you hit.
If you're all going down there to play 2/4 and 3/6 its like playing a slot machine anyway |

I have taken the buses from the port authority many times. I just avoid the casinos that make you play the slots. I really am amazed that no trains go there direct, but thanks for the info. [/ QUOTE ] Showboat gives you $20 cash when you get off the bus, and you don't even have to go thru the casino. |

Re: trains from nyc to ac
don't know of trains but I took that AC-NYC bus run into Penn Station and it was seamless - once I found the Bus Depot - I was unable to catch one from my Casino.
Take the bus - it's just a couple hrs and goes by fast - I was impressed with the NJ/NY transit system and picked up most of up by the time I left NYC. RB |

Re: It\'s 20 bucks....
Interested in taking a bus from Port Authority. How much are round trip rides? Can I return to NYC at any time or is there a specific time on the ticket? Are there buses going to various hotels that I could choose which one to be dropped off at?

You are not assigned or guaranteed a seat on any particular bus home, just show up and get in line. I don't know if the schedule is online somewhere as I havn't made this trip in several years. I do know that there are schedules at Port Authority. |

Re: It\'s 20 bucks....
Again, Greyhound is $30 round trip, and you get $17-20 back from the casino when you arrive. The tickets are a 4-day open return (i.e., you can go back on any bus within 4 days of your arrival). The buses stop at different casinos, but I always take the first bus and either walk or jitney to my destination. The schedule is on the Greyhound website.
