Re: Alcoholic gambling addicted lady accidentally gives me a pot
Since Shant hasn't posted yet....
If she actually misread and wasn't a stupid drunk who accused you of cheating I'd give her the pot. I mean, if she made a mistake on the end and you knew she had AQ and her cards didnt get mixed just give her the pot and don't be an ass. |

Re: Alcoholic gambling addicted lady accidentally gives me a pot
Oh, ship her the damn pot, or at least offer to chop it. Unless you need that money to pay rent, you don't know the problems she's got, and I hope you never have to go through what she's gone through.
Being a nice guy is only -EV if all you value is money. Edit: That said, the dealer screwed up by showing you the hand. He shouldn't put you in a spot like that or make you feel bad for winning a pot. That's our job. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] The dealer saw the womans hand since she was right by him and he grabs it and looks at it again, because she can't see it. He flashes me her hand, AQ, and pushes me the pot. [/ QUOTE ] Why is the dealer retrieving a mucked hand? I think I would have asked Al to kick him in the nuts. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, the dealer shoud NOT have done this. |

Re: Alcoholic gambling addicted lady accidentally gives me a pot
When I saw the title to this post, I assumed it was going to be another stupid thread in regards to someone wanting to justify keeping a mistakingly awarded pot after a showdown. However, the fact that the old lush mucked her hand without showing makes the decision to keep the pot ridiculously simple.
And the dealer needs a good kick in the nuts. |

Re: Alcoholic gambling addicted lady accidentally gives me a pot
This dealer would be on my [censored] list. He should not have looked at her hand, he should not have shown you her hand, he should not be telling a player to show a hand. The old drunk mucked a hand that should have been the end of this story.

Re: Alcoholic gambling addicted lady accidentally gives me a pot
Everyone has the option to let the cards speak by tabling their hand at the end. Anyone who declines that option and mistakenly mucks a winner deserves no sympathy.

Re: Alcoholic gambling addicted lady accidentally gives me a pot
Remember there are more rules to the game. You need to follow all the rules. Her hand was dead when it hit the muck. Like another poster said you advantage was not being drunk.
If you want to give her some money afterwards then you giving her money like you would give money to a homeless person or a charity. If thats what you want to do, fine. You definately should not give it to her because she was *supposed* to win. She didn't table the winning hand...You did. You gave her every opportunity within the rules to claim the pot. -Gryph |
