I remember before Daniel's big run last year people making "what happened to Negreanu" posts. Then he went on a rush and folks quieted down, now he is on a cold spell, and out pop the doubters. I wouldn't be surprised if his tourey game is more than a bit off after all this HU play with masters. Plus, he's likely more than a bit distracted by the side action with BG.
But variance, early in tourney, yadda yadaa

Today is the multi-rebuy event, so we're sure to hear about him, if for no other reason than making a record number of rebuys [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img].

He is the best around but there's still plenty of luck in these huge field tourneys. He went out of the Pot Limit [I think] when a pre-flop raiser with AA checked the AAx flop letting him catch an 8 on the turn to go with his 88. There's nothing you can do to avoid going out in that scenario.
