$150,000 in chips in a duffle bag

Uh, wouldn't it be easier to color up to just a few high-denomination chips? I'd hate lugging around 1,500 $100 chips when I could just put 15 $10,000 chips in my pocket. And why bring them up to the room at all? Why not leave them in a box at the cage???

[/ QUOTE ]

The article was wrong. I remember Greg discussing this incident in the forums, it was FAR less than 150,000. I remember something like 5K... if fact some people were joking about how it was such a small amount.

I'm close to 330, and people are shocked when I tell them.

"When I think of 300+, I don't think of you," I hear a lot.

I've never met Greg, so I can't compare myself to him.

that and I highly doubt Greg goes 330 lbs like the article states...

They don't call them whales for nothing, lol. Seriously - you are right no way Greg is 330.

[/ QUOTE ]

Look at the court-room photo, he's clearly lost some weight since the WSOP2004.

I've met Greg. Yes he is overweight, but beneath the fat he is rather solid muscle. His handshake is that of a body builder's, not someone you want to mess with.

The story says the big dude was on the ground. That's a feat, based on the picture. Good job, Greg....

I think he took the chips up to his room b/c he didn't want to have to retrieve them from a box in the poker room in the morning, since he was leaving very early as the article states.

How long does it take to get chips out of the cage? $5000 I could see, but $150k, chips or cash, there's no way I'm taking that up to my room no matter how big my roll is, especially if I'm a high-profile player like Greg is. I'll get my ass up a few minutes early. I'm guessing Greg will probably do the same in the future if in fact this is the case.

Wait... if he was leaving in the morning, this makes even less sense. He should have either colored up to high-value chips, or (better) cashed out completely. WTF is he going to do with a duffle bag full of chips on a plane? That's gotta be a pain in the ass to schlep around an airport.
