Re: **RANT** Which site really has worse suck outs? PS or PP?
For some reason people think they can just play the game, like its the same game everytime you sat down. Poker is not a static game nor is it a game of complete information. I do like the remark about chess. Yes, if you want a game that allows the better player to win, then move to chess. There is a basic equation that most people never understand, I guess. The worse the players are, they worse you will get sucked out, because the play cards that completely if not impossible to read, unless you start to notice patterns, etc. Couple that with on-line poker, which turns more than x2 the hands that a live game produces, this equates to a lot of bad beats. So for low limit games, it sucks. I play mostly $10 SNG's two-tables @PS and find them very beatable.

Re: **RANT** Which site really has worse suck outs? PS or PP?
The other thing people don't see is the times you win your dominated hands that don't go to showdown.
I was sitting in an online tournament when someone had their AA cracked by a set of 4s. A guy who wasn't in the hand says " I hate AA" - it loses a lot on here. I kept my keyboard shut, but was laughing a lot. Another guy pipes up and says something to the effect that it's not as often as it seems They get into an arguemen about it, and the smart guy makes the comment, you don't see how often AA wins when people fold. The moron retorts "yeah, but the pot is always small when that happens". Just proves some people get it, others don't. But I think the one guy had the point straight on. If AA beats another pocket pair 80% of the time, how many of those times does the 55 or 66 fold on the flop to aggression? So the AA wins, but no one knows what he had? |

[ QUOTE ]
I welcome all criticism in this thread, some more constructive than others . As I warned both in the title and in the first sentence, I realized I was ranting, being upset from having just being knocked out on the bubble losing to a 2 outer on the river. Of course these things happen in poker, and I blame myself for not adding any additional questions that people could have responded to as well to make the thread more productive. I plan on creating a new thread that more articulately states my frustration/questions with Poker Stars tournaments and welcome any further critiques/comments in either thread. Will [/ QUOTE ] Here's a plan...do not play on the bubble. Fold every hand until someone else gets sucked out on. Then take your money and book a win. If you take this advice, you will leave a lot of money on the table and it is impossible to fold your way into first place, but at least you will not waste bandwidth with a rant. |
