Re: Routine fold?
i hate your 3 bet with JJ Preflop just call and see what happend
I really like my 3-bet from the button with JJ, and I'd do it almost all the time. I want the BB and the limpers between the raiser and myself to call 2 bets cold, because I have a better hand than them. If they fold, that's OK too. Also, a raise here helps me define my opponent's hand better, if he caps, it's much more likely he has AA/KK (or AK/QQ if he's feeling frisky), or at least it would be on most sites. But still, at pacific with this many loose callers, I'm making so much money off 3-betting PF with JJ and having them call with their 92 s00ted (J5o really did call 4 bets PF), I think 3-betting here is definitely the move. |

Re: Routine fold?
I am aware that, given the play, an A was likely, but the odds were indeed good. To be fair, the fact that i mucked them on the flop before and now i stay to the turn and sometimes river at least mean i am changing my game from weak-tight to tight-aggressive. And paying much closer attention to pot odds. Right??

Re: Routine fold?
gotcha. ta for the input.
what if i still have odds on the turn? i usually stay in the pot if the turn card is below my PP, is non-threatening [3-flush/3-str] and odds are on. Is this wrong? surely not... |

Re: Routine fold?
If you have the odds to chase from the turn to the river for what would likely be the winning hand, then that's fine. But if you're chasing a two-outer, you will rarely have a chance to get at least 20:1 on your turn call.

Calling the flop with odds to draw, and calling the turn without them has nothing to do with being tight/aggressive. Unless you're getting about 20:1 on your turn call (like chesspain said), calling the turn is losing you money. GoT |
