I've found the muckleshoots low limit games to be quite tight compared to the smaller casinos around the area..

[/ QUOTE ]

How much looser do you need? What's your definition of tight? These games are absolutely gravy.

Ok, granted, I haven't played there that many times, but I played once $3-6 and it was gravy, but still somewhat tight- only 4 people seeing the flop on average.

Played $4-8 and the darned game was constantly shorthanded and very tight. I would say an average of 2 or 3 callers seeing the flop. Pots were tiny! Maybe I just started playing too late (midnight).

I guess the smaller casinos have spoiled me with players capping it with a T high flush when I have the Nut flush, lol. Plus their beer and food is expensive when the smaller one comp you.

Default Re: The weekend/short version trip report

It turned out that I ended up at Tulalip on Saturday afternoon/night, Diamond Lil's for the tournament, and the Muck during the Super Bowl.

I ended up changing it around after realizing how close the Muck was to the airport and how much easier it'd be to return my car from there rather than from Tulalip.

Tulalip was nice, smoke free cardrooms are excellent . I played 3/6, and was dealt KK in the first round, which lost substantially when my trips turn also gave someone the nut straight. Fortunately, this was The Most Passive Game Ever at the time, so I didn't lose as much as I should've. A few good hands, and I was able to turn the session around quickly though, people looked me up in all the wrong spots. Ended up around 22 BB for the 4 hour session (was just too tired to play more), even with being sucked out on the river my final two hands.

Diamond Lil's - had a blast at the tournament. Doubled up early and never had to rebuy. Added on (1200 chips for $20 is a great deal there), and petered around until about 5 tables remained, with my stack dwindling. I moved in on the button w/ KJo (only had 8x the BB), and sucked out a J against AKs to stay alive. At 3 tables, I moved in w/ KK, called by A3, to see an Ace flop, and a beautiful K hit the turn and stay alive. With a few blind steals, I was able to make the final table, and we ended up making a 6-way split. The chip leaders wanted to watch the superbowl, and they had substantial advantages (40x BB each, other 4 of us had 4-6x BB). Since they wanted to leave quickly, I proposed a split which gave them each slightly over 2nd, and the other 4 of us slightly less than 3rd. 6th place was $370, and I was more than happy to trade my tiny stack in for $745. Profit after tips from tounament - $655, my biggest session/tournament win to date

The Muck - Wow, this place was loose, but more agressive (somewhat) than Tulalip. I only played a few hours of 3-6, where I proceeded to get lots of overcards. People stayed with any piece of the board, which would've been sweet, but I was running cold. Dropped 13 BB, called it a night, and returned the call.

Total from ring games +$50
Tournaments +$655
Random guy in Vegas stopover +$10

For someone still playing .50/1, that'll do, that'll do .

Thanks to everyone that suggested these places, I really enjoyed all 3. Next time I'll have them page Sup Bro to the counter

Al

P.S. My interview went well also, I think, so hopefully they'll make a good offer and I'll be moving out to Seattle in the near future.

Sounds like you had a good time. It's too bad you didnt' have net access up here in order to update us as to where you were going .

Just an FYI. The female who got 1/2 of that huge 2nd place money split? That was the first time she ever played where money was involved . She only went because she wanted to be supportive of her boyfriends hobbies (who busted out around 40th i think).

You realize, since they spread 9 handed, that this is about a 44% flop rate?

This is rare. I would assume it's rare in most cardrooms for this limit. It was probably still nice and passive, wasn't it? When the game gets short on 4-8, you can really kick ass as many simply don't know SH at all.

Yeah, this kind of sucks. We used to get comped. Long story about that with waitresses pilfering money and such. However, with all the drawings and giving back to the players, which is by far the best in the nation as far as I've seen/heard, I let the comp thing slide.

True, they weren't tough at all, but most of the players knew when to lay down a bad hand, unlike some of the players at Chips or the Silver Dollar.

Do you play 10-20 at the Muck?

I can't comment on the beer since I don't drink when I'm playing, but I'm happy with the food situation at muck. Their menu is pretty large and most of the food is actually good. The service there is pretty good and since everything is half price, I end up getting a meal for around $5. I play there a couple times a week and I'm there long enough that I always end up ordering food while playing, so having a variety of decent meals available for $5 that I can order to the table is good enough for me. Compare Tulalip, where the food is awful, the service is absolutely terrible and getting the food comp requires me to get up from the table and miss hands so that the incompetent slow floorman can give me the certificate. Ugh.

I take it the endorsement deal fell through?

I remember about the floor and dealers and stuff. But the food isn't that great? I've never ate there. Just curious.
