I just love his laugh. It's so goofy.

Keep in mind that it's simply good business for ESPN to portray the two people who are going to be getting the most air time as good ambassadors for poker -- throw in shiek / matusow for some drama -- but as for the #1 and #2 guys, ESPN surely realizes that they would be wise to have them portrayed in a positive light, in the hopes that they'll carry the poker boom torch well for future years.

There is only so much that espn can do to spin someone's personality from an ahole to a good guy...

the thing i like about dannenmann is, he's a donkey, but he knows it. no need to hate. i just hate when a guy is a donkey and is still there wearing the stone cold shades, pretending every move he made was expert, when really it was all a big jopke (kanter).

Is he a donkey? What brings you to this conclusion?

I thought it said "folding to a preflop raise is only a small mistake."

Wasn't really paying attention...did I get it right?

I saw nothing in his play that would lead me to believe he's a donkey. After the early show (where I thought he came off as a goofball) I found his attitude refreshing and his play surprisingly strong.

He's not a donkey, but he is a guy who realizes he isn't in the top 10 in the world, and he's also a guy who seems fully aware of how lucky you have to get to reach to final table of a 5600-person event. I thought his play was fine. I even though his jokey demeanor worked. If you do that all the time, who knows when you have a hand and when you don't?

Also, I think he might have played a little more poker between July and the TOC.

He also won a Bellagio Friday $1K buy-in event. It paid around $22K. I'm sick of ppl giving Dannenmann a hard time. Calling him a donkey for no reason. In the past 6 months he has accomplished more in tournament play than the majority of you ppl calling him donkey will in your lifetime.

As I was watching coverage of the final four episodes I was thinking how tough it would be to play against a goofball like that. Always in a good mood. Always smiling no matter if he is all-in for his life or congratulating a guy that just sucked out on him. Screw all you Dannenmann haters.
