Nice assumption about everyone thinking HOH is the best.

Re: What\'s the 2nd best book for NLHE tournaments
"Making the Final Table" is a terrific book and for me is up there with HOH. It's shorter than HOH but has great value for 3 reasons:
1) Shows you how to LAG it up while not being reckless 2) Shows you how to play post-flop better. Specifically, making logic deductions from an opponents' bet preflop to his bets postflop. It shows you when to conclude that an opponent's bet postflop makes no sense when the baord doesn't fit his preflop raise. 3) The Appendix: Matt Maros sections. |

Re: What\'s the 2nd best book for NLHE tournaments
I think this is really dependent on a lot of things. Such as the type of tournaments you are going to play, your experience level, and your understanding of basic poker concepts.
For me, SuperSystem really made a difference in my play, as I was too loose and passive. Unfortunately, this made me a LAG. Then I read TPFAP and that gave me more insights and information than any other book, and is probably where I started actually doing well regularly in tournaments. So, I voted for TPFAP. |

Re: What\'s the 2nd best book for NLHE tournaments
I read Brunsons book....and I've never played so poorly in my life. I lost like crazy until I was able to remove it from my memory with the use of booze and drugs.
Some of his sections on bluffing-pushing- "i always play the next hand after i win a hand"- too much advice without complete explanations. I like Slanskys book. |

Re: What\'s the 2nd best book for NLHE tournaments
I like this forum alot better than any books since I get to read more than one comment on each hand. But any book provides new information from a different view so any book is ok I guess, except TJ's
