Blockbuster is owned by right wing nutjobs who have even insisted movie companies shoot special low-sex versions of their movies, and then pawned those off on their customers, from what I've heard, if that helps. Positive on the former, the latter may be less fishy than it sounds.

netflix.

and, signup thru yourgiftcards.com (not affiliate spam) and you'll get a $50 Visa GC (or other GC's, you choose) if you stay w. NF for 3 months (i think it's 3).

I got mine back when it was $100 to walmart; you have to keep copies of your records & stay on top of it, otherwise it's legit. (Info over @ Fatwallet).

Does anyone have any suggestions for those of us who prefer buying to renting? Right now I mostly just buy from Amazon but I'm sure there's some awesome site for cheap dvd's I've never heard of.

Hey,

I had Netflix and loved it. A while back they raised their prices (and have since lowered them). Since I'm not a heavy video watcher I switched to Wal-Mart (they were horible - but I hear Netflix bought them out) and switched to Blockbuster. I am happy with blockbuster. In addition to your online rentals you get two instore coupons a month for movies or games - which I like because you can rent whatever whenever. You can't go wrong with either one, but with Blockbuster you get the two instore rentals each month

deepdiscountdvd-- catch one of their 20% off sales & its the best deal on a lot of dvd's (i used it for lotr extended box set purchases.) i don't buy a lot though, so there may be better places out there. best buy'll run 2/$15 or something deals every week or so if you watch your sunday ads.

I used AMAZON USED.

I have blockbuster and its cheaper than Netflix $2... but Blockbuster's reccomendations sucks, I guess I'll switch to Netflix soon, because I'm interested in having great reccomendations.
