Re: Cheap TV recommendations
hmmm...just looked at today's Best Buy ad circular
32" Sharp (32C241) for 259.99 The Sharp my family owns has performed better than the sony tvs we have owned. The picture is not as sharp though, but still quite good and pleasant to the eye. |

Re: Cheap TV recommendations
At Radio Shack and Target and some other stores you can get RCA's really dirt cheap. I've had a 27 inch one for years, and it has last me through uncountable power surges and looks fine from across the room. It's also marketed under some other brand names. You can tell by the signature styling at the bottom of the screen that the box comes from the same maker, so if you see it elsewhere, you might get it even cheaper. But it's dirt cheap and quite good.

RESULTS
While I was carrying the TV out of her house, she dropped the remote in a pan full of water. She dried it off best she could and I took it anyway.
I just plugged it in and it looks fine. This is about what I would have settled for paying $150-$250 at Best Buy/Target, except it's like 5 yrs old and doesn't have RCA A/V inputs (luckily I have a Radio Shack adapter I can use). Color, sound, etc. all appear acceptable. Best $10 I've spent in a while. And the remote still works. |
