Default Re: Why it is not mandatory to call a raise after completing.

you should complete with T7o against the guy i described (yes in a 1/2 sb game). you see a flop for super cheap against a guy who will usually give you at least another small bet postflop by peeling every flop. if he hits any piece, you usually gain much more, and it only costs you half a small bet to see a flop. plus he is probably not tricky at all, and you can get away from your hand very easily if faced with aggression.

If there are 3 limpers, you complete in the SB and BB raises, it is 9 SB back to you and you are closing the action.

If you're completing in the SB because you're getting 9:1 then how is it incorrect to call the raise when you're still getting 9:1 after the raise?

There is a lot of money in the pot and you're closing the action.

Yeah putting in more $$ might suck but you're getting the same odds.

Someone tell me if my thinking is wrong.

You may also have to consider that when you complete in the SB, you are throwing in half of a small bet against limpers who are not wild about their hands. A raise from the BB usually indicates a strong hand, which would probably decrease your chances of pulling in this pot. I don't think a hand such as T7o should call this raise.

read the thread. the pot is larger but your implied odds are different.

at a ten handed table surely you would limp 76s behind 3 limpers with two very loose passive blinds, right?

you'd be getting ~5:1 on your money there.

would you coldcall 4 bets with it on the button if the action went

utg raises, utg+1 3-bets, utg+2 caps, mp1 calls, mp2 calls, and it folds to you

???

even if utg and the blinds fold, you will get about 5:1, yet this call is terrible.
