and drink a lot of water.

This would actually help?

[/ QUOTE ]

yes, i know it sounds fuzzy or whatever, but being dehydrated or not drinking enough can lead to your eyes drying out and hurting when you have contacts in.

Borrow saline solution from somebody. Don't you have any friends or neighbors who wear contacts? Do not use tap water or distilled water, and it's not best to leave them in your eyes the whole time either. I've seen too many eye infections from all of these things. Just saw a 19 year-old girl with a contact lens corneal ulcer yesterday, and it's unlikely she'll ever be 20/20 again with her right eye.

7ontheline, eye M.D. (for credibility's sake)

If she was 20/20 to begin with, then why was she wearing contacts?

mix two tablespoons of regular salt with half a cup of ordinary tap water. add a tiny splash of bleach to kill any bacteria. this should work fine until you can buy some solution.

I think you should spend the 4 bucks on saline solution and not have dried out contacts/eyes for the next couple of days.
