the answer is always yes [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

it's helpful because when in doubt and it's close enough to ask, be inclined to value bet. whether or not it's close enough to ask depends on whether or not you're up against a loose player or a tight one, an unknown, etc. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

i agree with you, just thought that reading the post might make some difference. but i can see how against certain players your betting the river with any piece of the board.

Well, you only have one opponent. The river card is not too scary as it probably only completes a King high straight draw. It is somewhat likely that your opponent would have raised the turn with an ace. The rest is very read-dependent, but I am leaning toward betting the river for value. In this small pot, you could probably easily fold to a raise.

True.

However I think sometimes the risk of a SB upfront will make putting in the Big Bet on the river easier – and more likely to be called –

If it is checked to the button who bets, fine, we call or CR depending on the players.
If I check, and the next player bets, and the button calls – well I suppose we can debate what the best course of action is.
