if, god forbid, you ever get married and try to raise a family, that money will be very useful.

There's a reason people who make 1mil a year still try to make 2 mil

Because they want to buy their kids Luis Vuitton lunch boxes?

2-6 days/month off. If I spend a whole day with family I usually don't play, and sometimes I take a long weekend and go to a chess tournament to get away from the game for a while.

i am surprised by some of the responses. i find weekend days, weekend evenings, holidays, etc., have the most fish and the loosest games. several of the posters who make their living at poker, mentioned taking off some or most of the weekend. i would think they would do better taking off a few days mid week, with the occasional weekend for family, girlfriend, etc.

i think that's the whole point.. some people aren't trying to squeeze out every dollar. i could make way more money than i do make. i play about 20 hours a week TOPS (if i'm lucky) and i have no other income besides poker

Im generally surprised that people take off 2-3 days a week, but i think its great that they can. I have some pyschological block which doesnt let me do this enough.
