Despite living 10 minutes from the Muck (south of even) I go all the way past it an hour to Tulalip for the smokeless environment and better dealers, etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

I actually feel that the dealers at Tulalip are worse than at Muckleshoot....maybe not worse but not as friendly. There a couple of real a--holes that work at Tulalip......

[/ QUOTE ]

There's a few in every bunch.. but T- is one of the few places in/around seattle where I haven't been spoken to patronizingly by the dealers (or creepily touched by the floorman constantly.. I'm never going back to THAT place)

[/ QUOTE ]

You have to tell us which place that was!

they have one and nine for the dealers not the players.

[/ QUOTE ]

I didn't think about that, but I suppose that could be their reasoning.

[ QUOTE ]
so you want to sit in seat two or eight if you are stupid enough to play there and get poisened.

This isn't California or Vegas. There is only ONE non-smoking poker room here and that is Tulalip. Ona good night, there are three or four $4/8 games, two NL games, a $10/20, and a $20/40 game. Most other nights we are lucky if they get two $4/8 games and two NL games going, so it just isn't worth the drive for anyone who wants to have a good game selection.

btw - I-901 is the "make Washington smokeless" initiative. Please register to vote and vote YES!

I hope this initiative passes.

About a year ago I have this conversation at the Muck while complaining about the smoke to another non-smoking player.

Me: You know I heard that only 20% of people smoke in WA? I don't understand why the rest of us have to put up with this crap.
Him: Really? Looks like the complete opposite is true of poker players. 80% of the players here are smoking.

Heh.

Me too. The only people this initiative will hurt are the businesses that explicitly cater to smokers, and I think it's time those businesses stopped preying on nicotine addicts.

Would 901 apply to tribal property though?

Gamblers frequently have addictive personalities, so that makes total sense.

No, it would not, but it would open up our options when looking for games at other casinos and may force the Muck to follow suit, rather than lose business.

Wow. Really? Next thing you know, there'll be lots of people smoking in bars. Is nowhere safe?

I'm sensing sarcasm here...but I don't get the point you're trying to make. Actually, there are a lot of safe smoke free areas around Seattle.

And you're right, people smoke in bars, and in a few restaurants still. And in both cases it's annoying (to me, and I'm sure many of the employees and other patrons). I hate having to take a shower after going out for a couple hours. I make it a point to go to smoke free clubs, bars and restaurants. It's the smaller casinos that kill me though, and I've even stopped going to them (not because of losing) but because of the smoke.

I either play completely online now (90% of the time), in Vegas, or at Tulalip. Which basically means, unless I'm playing in a tournament at the muck, I'm not playing anywhere else where there is smoking.

Little Creek is also smokeless but again there's not much in game selection. Only 5 tables usually 1 NL a 10-20 and the rest 4-8 or less.

Please God let this pass, I hate waking up to reeking clothes and a stuffy nose after a night in one of the local rooms.

The one and nine is definately for the dealers, a few local rooms are doing that now.
