I think you're looking at a boat here probably 66 or QQ. A lot of good players check here and let you catch up which you did but you probably already know this. FOLD.

Villain is not very aggressive,
..almost contradicts this in my mind... I pot $240, he pot-raises to $960 straight. Since you have a Queen, I have a hard time giving him a hand like QQ, I sooner put him on a hand like AA or KK. I have a difficult time giving him 44, QQ, 66, AK, or a suited Ace or King. He he has shown aggression and he normally does not play aggressively, however he most likely puts you on a hand like AQ. I think the question is do you call or reraise? I personally would call because I do not like reraising a player who now decides to turn on the aggression. I would call, if he has a better hand thats poker. |

can villain really put hero on backdoor flush here? i have a feeling a reraise all in may get called by worse hands in this spot...
i have a feeling that since diablo posted this hand, there's more to it then just, i want to see a showdown, call...because in this scenario it is possible that the villain would call in a worse hand. villain probably would not put diablo on a set, because it'd be uncharacteristic for diablo to just check call one like that. therefore, villain may think his overpair is good enough to bet this strong on the river. meh...i'd probably still call...but i'm interested to see what el d thinks |

if villain is an idiot (and capable of value-raising here with hands you beat) - easy call.....if he's not an idiot, but tricky and capable of bluff-raising on the end - I call....if he's not an idiot, and not tricky - I fold.....it sure smells like that 7 hit him on the end.....

[ QUOTE ]
4-handed. Not super-aggressive. Villain is not very aggressive, but not a pushover either. I am SB with $2423 . Villain is CO with $4190. Villain standard opens for $35. I call w/ Qs Js. Flop 4d 6s Qd I check, he bets pot $80, I call Turn (4d 6s Qd) 4s I check, he checks River (4d 6s Qd 4s) 7s I pot $240, he pot-raises to $960 straight. Your move? [/ QUOTE ] I would call. If he was a pushover I would push all-in. |

I smell a 77 there.. His continuation bet on the flop failed. He checked the turn cause he gave up and the free river minted him.

Tough hand, but I'd call unless I had a rock solid read on the guy that told me not to.

You beat a bluff and two clear "value raise"-type hands: the 53 straight and an A4/54 for trips. You are also way ahead of AA, KK, and AQ, which someone might conceivably play in this fashion.
So for that reason I call. |
