UTG I usually limp my pp up to 99 for set value, but raising is fine if you can get away from them post-flop. Calling the pre-flop raise is fine. I prefer to lead the flop and put villain on his heels. If he has AA or KK then he should raise and you can push. Most villains at this level will not lay down AA or KK on that flop.

As played, just push the turn. If villain can't call your turn push then he only calls your river push if he has you beat.

Again, if you play 88 and hit your set, you plan should be to get your entire stack in the middle over 90% of time (I only slow down/consider folding if the board has 2 pair, 4 flush or 4 straight showing).

My first instinct in this hand is to berate you for all kinds of imagined monsters, but I think we'd all like to lose less pots with set under set.

Really? Think of the value you would be giving up trying to implement a strategy to accomplish this.

BTW - I am 90% sure you were being tongue-in-cheek, but I thought I'd reply just in case

Preflop looks good.

I would bet the flop here but c/r is OK.

As played, definitely push the turn.

Wouldn't AA bet more than $9 on the flop?

I think at this level AA re-raises or pushes that flop.

Thanks for all the comments so far guys.

For the people saying limp 88, I would have limped full ring. Would you still limp it in 6-max?

And I understand the disaster of MUBS, I really do. Just from the preflop and flop action I became convinced he had AA. I rolled my eyes when the A came down. I've never gone from praying I was right to praying I was wrong so fast.
