At the time, my thinking was that the SB's check indicated weakness. He fooled me. I was fairly sure both the MPs would fold, as they would have raised my preflop bet with JJ-AA and would give me credit for an overpair here.

It was indeed an awful move. Like I said, if I really wanted to try and take down this pot, $100 would have done the trick. Then I get called or raised by the SB and shut down.

Yup. Much better to flush $100 down the drain than $240.

Still, I prefer not flushing anything down the drain and simply check-folding to any bet.

i'm gonna go out on a limb and assume this post is a joke. so my response is... lol.

what's especially ironic to me is that the flop is rainbow with no clubs, so he's actually drawing just about stone cold dead.

Tough love man. You expect people in a mid-high stakes forum to hold your hand and cry for you every time you make a horrible play?

What about this play seemed right to you? Why would you think betting on that flop is ever in a million years a good idea? You played the hand really badly, there's not a lot of ways to sugar-coat that...
