Maliks goal is identical to a move he made in the Canucks super skills competition last year.

Interesting. I didn't know hockey had sudden death shootouts. The weird thing is that 90% of the fans didn't realize what had happened.

Interesting. I didn't know hockey had sudden death shootouts. [/ QUOTE ] Part of the rule changes instituted for this year. [ QUOTE ] The weird thing is that 90% of the fans didn't realize what had happened. [/ QUOTE ] Why would you think that? It wasn't difficult to see what he did. |

that first goal might be the most beautiful thing i've ever seen in sports. [/ QUOTE ] That move is standard operating procedure for most guys i've played with in practice and when we're goofing around; It's like the first oddball move every kid works on when they've mastered the fundamentals of the game. If you want to see how skilled these guys really are, watch an NHL practice. Your head will spin at what these guys can do when they're just goofing around waiting for their turn at the next drill. I had a guy who would come skate in at full speed, then bend down and cup his stick over the puck, spin around 360, and the puck would come flying off his stick from about 4 feet off the ground. He'd picked it up on his stick in the middle of his spin. Other guys can skate full speed and drop the puck from their stick to their feet and kick it back out the other side and backhand it top corner, all in a space of like 5 feet. Also is the popular flick the puck about two feet off the ice and slap it from mid-air before it stops rising. I saw a guy put 7/10 off the crossbar from the blueline once. |
