3 betting is massive spew IMO. even if you have pot odds to call down, which I doubt, I don't think you have the equity to do this...how often do we estimate BB folds? and if you get capped then what?

The villain is bad and doesnt know about the difference between raising to knock people out of the pot or raising the field.

Interesting, because I have the same problem... only not on such a simple level. I understand the difference between raising to knock players out, and thin the field... What I don't understand is how to evaluate the above in terms of a small flop bet compared to a 2x sized turn bet. "Do I drop the hammer now? or later" that kind of thinking

If the bb doesnt have a nine, he will fold a lot to a check-raise -> reraise.

Also, its unvommon for people to cap-bluff, so if that does happen, you can safely fold. Note that the "3bet -> fold to cap" ends up costing you the same as it would to call down, assuming the villain doesnt call the 3bet then donk the river (which is a possibility).

All that aside, considering how passive he is, folding to the c/r has probably less of a margin of error than any other play.

Do you mean, should you wait till the turn to raise? I think SSH covers this one somewhere in it.
