Why is it so hard to believe people are long term winners? I see myself as a long term winner despite my rather crap ROI of 8% over 2500 or so tournaments. That atleast is enough for me to define myself as a winning player.

8% over 2500 tourneys is definitely a long term winner.

I was actually more just kidding and saying it in spite..

the fact is that most players would consider themselves winners but really be losers. We all know that. Given that the majority of 2+2ers would correctly report themselves as winners, I thought it kind of funny. (i was stoned).

Yep, I voted no.

You could be the favorite at every single SNG you play...but still be a losing player. There are many factors to consider; not just whether you know the right answers to 2+2 SNG threads.

This makes little to no sense. True, there's rake; but if you're the best player at all tables you sit down at, you're +EV. Also, knowing the right answer to all 2+2 SNG threads is one of the three steps necessary to be a hugely profitable SnG player. The other two are play as you would tell someone on 2+2 to play and have a sufficient bankroll to start. Given the sufficient bankroll, luck can become pretty insignificant over thousands of SnGs.

Yes, but this forum has WAY more winning players as a % than the general public out there.

How can a losing player be favored to win?

I voted 50%-75%. And I think it is closer to 50%. But like everything else it depends. I think some could be a winner at some limit somewhere but may not currently be a winner where they are playing (Party 33s-55s for example).
