OK, so this way too obvious then

I think I've become obsessed with playing more aggresively. I'm looking for spots to raise in where I call and to bet when I would check. Perhaps I should be looking for folds where I call instead?

SSHE: Miscellaneous Topics: Playing Overcards: Evaluating Overcards....

Your examples are microscopically better than example 4, which is "virtuously worthless." This section is extremely important as people find themselves with overcards all the time, and these hands end up becoming major leaks if not played correctly.

They are both clear folds. This exact scenario is covered in quiz 9 in SSHE. There hero has AhJc on 9s6s5d board and bet into with people to act. This board is even more scary.
You have overcards, that's 6 outs to start with. Sometimes you are reverse dominated, sometimes you are drawing dead, sometimes 2 outs are tainted because someone hits the flush with it, sometimes if you make your hand you have to dodge the flush or straight on the river. Also, someone behind could raise or UTG could checkraise.
All these factors make your draw very weak, no better than 2-3 outs. The pot is small, you have a dubius weak draw, there are people to act = very very clear fold.

Boy do I ever need to re-read that section of SSHE. It might seem obvious, but I find it easy to talk myself into continuing with overcards when I shouldn't, especially if I've raised them PF.
