Thanks Mel,

I've taken that one, and just about every other one I've ever found on the net. Did I mention I'm narcissistic?

Seriously, tho, I was guessing that ISTJ would be the most predisposed to be good poker players.

I'm an ENTP. A couple years ago I used to be ESTJ. I am not sure if there is any correlation between the personality changes and changes to my poker skills, but I would not be shocked to find that to be true.

cool, a entp, the best poker players!

My thoughts are that Introvert/Extrovert is not too critical, but I do think that introverts have more focus/concentration, and are better observers of social behavior, even if they are not as social themselves. Some introverts may start their life shy, but once they have developed a deep understanding for people they come to dominate the world around them.

Moving on, Thinking wins big over Feeling, and Perception wins big over Judging for poker skills IMO. The Sensing/iNtuition one is the most perplexing to me. I first gave poker a try specifically because I knew that I was intuitive, but the Myers Briggs keywords they use below seem confused. Many of what is listed under Sensing seem like important attributes for a poker player.

iNtuition: possibilities, novelty, future, aspiration, development, idealism, changing

Sensing: facts, experience, present, practicality, enjoyment, realism, using

Intuition is an encrypted message of logic and reason. In other words, your subconscious draws from your knowledge and experience to make decisions based on a web of facts that is far too much for the conscious mind to handle. I think of my subconscious mind like a super computer that can crunch more data than my conscious mind could. So I think that intuition is just an add-on to good "senses", not an alternative.

I'm INTP btw.

INFJ.

Did some project work for Conseco in 1999, drove all the way to Grand Victoria to find some soft stud games. (I hear Grand Victoria doesn't do poker anymore though.)

So I guess it's south to the river boats or north to Chicago for you. Or the web.

Sincerely,
AA

I see myself as a morphed hybrid psychopath with tendencies toward rational thought and inebreation. My last psychologist summed it up best when she said "I give up, get out of my f*&^ing office."
