I put you on TT. By the way, you 3-bet the flop, right?

I put villain on 99-66.

Most of you were right on, Shillx cheats because he saw this in SS. :P

Yeah, I 3-bet, he capped the flop -- I really need to proofread.

I had an overplayed 88, he had an overplayed 99 (on the river.)

I should have called down the flop raise - let him bluff a worse hand or lose the least to a better hand.

He should have just called my river raise, as my play was consistent with TT and i'm either bluffing (where he gets 0 extra bets) or I have him beat (where he loses 2 extra bets).

I guess there's a small likelyhood that I have AA-QQ and just wanted to pop on the river again, but I think that's stretching.

(and my pf play with 88 here isn't bad, considering the opponent and table image at the time)

I didn't say you had pocket 8s, well cause I'd assumed you'd fold this preflop against a raise.

[/ QUOTE ]

Against someone who raises 13% of their hands, I probably 3-bet 88 as well.

UTG+1 is a TAG, 18/13.
I've been running over the table the last orbit, raising a lot and winning a lot of hands without showdown. Been showing down both the goods (AKs and the like) and light raises that held up/improved (QTs/77)

Hero is MP2 with xy
UTG+1 open raises, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, all fold to UTG+1 who calls.

Flop - 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7.5 SB, 2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, Hero caps, UTG+1 calls

Turn - 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (7.75 BB, 2 players)
UTG+1 bets, Hero calls.

River - T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (9.75BB, 2 players)

Should be pretty standard, post the first few responses in white. How could either player have played their hand better?

haven't looked at any responses yet.

Preflop:

I'll give you TT-AA, AK. maybe AQs and 99-88 if your image is good and you can pick up the pot.

I'll give him the standard EP raising hands minus AA-QQ and AKs. whether or not he raises, say, 77 or ATo UTG (marginal raises that can be ok at the right table) is just something you'll have to discern from his play. also is he tricky enough to not cap AA-KK occasionally HU.

Flop:
did you three bet the flop and he called? I have to imagine this flop "hit" him if he's doing this, I really can't see him doing this with overcards. especially if he can expect a three bet a fair portion of the time.

I'll give him TT-JJ on the flop, with the OUTside possibility of A9s if he would raise with that pf (his PFR is pretty high).

your bet does nothing to narrow your range, but your three bet does. I have to give you AKs with a backdoor flush draw, AA/KK, or TT-88, POSSIBLY 77 if you're mixing up your PF play. my line with JJ/QQ here would be to smoothcall the flop and raise the turn. same with TT, but we have the gutshot. I'll also occasionally take the smoothcall-raise turn line with AA/KK, but my default is to three bet the flop with those. I also occasionally three bet with QQ, but yeah. AKs or some pocket pair.

Turn:
when he bets into you after the turn comes blank, I have to think he's got TT-JJ and is denying you your free card with AK. maybe he has QQ. but, I have to think he has top pair here.

When you smoothcall, I've gotta give you 99 (planning to raise the river) or 88 (realizing you're drawing) or AKs (drawing). I really don't think you have AA/KK here as you'd raise again.

River: He's value betting something like TT/JJ, but you hit your 88 straight.

Grunching

From your clue on the unimproved cards you played, QTs/77, I'd guess you have A8s, as I don't think you'd play J8s, though maybe...
I'd say he's got JJ or QQ, but not really sure.
I suck at this game anyway.
