Re: I pair my ace!
the third player's presence makes check raising this flop a good play. sure he will have a better ace sometimes, but he will be forced to play those hands straightforwardly with the third player in. the third guy also pads the pot for us, meaning we can afford to be wrong a bit more often.

Re: I pair my ace!
yeah that's the idea - if we get 3-bet on the flop we should check fold the turn. showing down after he 3-bets the flop is going to be a losing play. also if he does decide to wait and raise the turn, i am also laying it down. the good thing (as i tried to mention before) is that most decent players will just play their good hands straightforwardly on the flop here (because the pot is getting large and there's a player behind who they can force out).

Re: I pair my ace!
Any c/r'ing in this hand seems relatively useless. CO appears to be the sort of player who calls down when he has a pair. He's not likely to 3-bet us with a better ace so we really don't know if we're ahead him or behind him. Only thing a c/r does for us is encourage hands way behind us to fold, resulting in less overall money getting in at showdown, and encourage us to fold when UTG 3-bets us. This is bad because sometimes he'll get tricky and we'll fold a better hand.
I don't really care what UTG has other than to know I'm ahead of him often enough to call down. Sometimes he has an ace here, sometimes a king, sometimes a draw and sometimes a mid pocket. I want to take a WA/WB option and not get fancy. check/call the flop and the turn, bet out the river and fold to a raise. |

I just don't think we gain anything by being aggro here with 2 other players when we have top pair and lousy position. |
