Re: A history of violence.
I don't understand what's "gay" about this movie, though. Did you see the same 2 soft-core porn scenes that I did?

I was able to get the whole theatre laughing at the unintentionally funny parts of the William Hurt scene. [/ QUOTE ] Well in my theater everyone was cracking up when Hurt was saying "HOW COULD YOU [censored] THAT UP?" |

Re: A history of violence. *spoiler*
I'm not saying the intentionally funny parts were not funny.
Like, here's an example, when Viggo is explaining his two "personalities" he said he "killed Joey in the desert." I thought this was hilarious (although, moreso after the movie was over). Actually, no, that was a bad example. The part I laughed at the hardest was when William Hurt actually got shot. It was so overdone and such a poor climax that I was breathless in laughter. |

Re: A history of violence.
OK. Let me explain.
1. Maria Bellow - her face is sweet but once you see her naked you realize she is below average by Hollywood standards and only slightly above average for real life standards. Cronenberg is saying "see, chicks might look nice but really they're not all they're cracked up to be." 2. the second sex scene where Mortenson nails Bellow on the stairs. Not only are hard wooden stairs the absolutely most unsexy, uncomfortable, most unrealistic place to have sex, the only skin in this scene is Mortenson's pale white ass pumping up and down. Gag. But if you were gay you probably liked this scene. Here Cronenberg is saying "see hetero sex is really uncomfortable. Get a load of Viggo's ass." Sorry but this just didn't do it for me. |

The funniest part of the movie is where Viggo is explaining to his son that violence is wrong. Then he slaps the [censored] out of him. lol.

Re: A history of violence. *spoiler*
Haha. Yeah. How about when he the d-bag kid hits a homerun and is so sure of himself that he... starts walking towards home plate?
Then gets infuriated that the son caught the ball, like he made some really amazing play and showed the d-bag kid up, when he didn't even have to move. |

Re: A history of violence.
I thought Maria Bello was beautiful, but I digress. I completely agree with your second interpretation now that I think about it. Well, not completely agree, but I definitely don't disagree.

Re: A history of violence. *spoiler*
oh yea. that part sucked. I mean there are a million reasons you might get picked on in highschool. catching a fly ball in gym class is not one of them. In fact it almost assuredly makes you less likely to get picked on. give me a friggin break.

The funniest part of the movie is where the guy Viggo pwned is on the ground with half a nose left. [/ QUOTE ] |
