Default Re: theory on Pacific \'fishyness\'

Its more fishy than party, no doubt about it. Here is my theory about why its so fishy though. They pay $150 bounty for new "real money" players. Pretty much the best non rake affiliated bonus Ive seen. So when someone becomes an affiliate they get everyone they know to sign up and play. Most of those people are parents, brothers, sisters, friends who know nothing about poker, grandparents, the guy down the block, basically not your best poker players. End of story

How fishy is Pacific exactly? What level on Pacific has the same skill as Party's .5/1, 1/2, or 2/4 full ring tables?

Could it be worth it to 5 table 4 party and 1 pacific?

[/ QUOTE ]
Sure it might be worth it but if one crappy table of Pacific is not worth playing for the pro, then 4 tables of Party (or 3 tables of whatever you want or 7 tables of something else) doesn't make it any better.

If I give you one crap sandwich and you say "That's no good," will you feel better if you go to another shop and buy 4 good sandwiches and then come back to me for the same crap sandwich?

Why not play 4 tables of Party and one table at a site that offers a bonus, better software, etc.?

Was it account specific?

Because big Pacific bonuses like that would have been noticed by more than just you. I'm not assuming that you are lying, but it is pretty hard to believe if it wasn't account specific.

What kind of promo was it?
Details!

How about this theory?: the reason there are so many fishes there at low levels is because there are few, if any, sharks and bonus whores. Table minus sharks minus bonus whores equals fishes.

And the chief reason is only one table can be played at a time. What serious player is going to be trying to make money at $1-2 on just one table? Hello?!

And what bonus whore is going to be there? Let's see, every $10 of rake you pay can be converted to a whopping one cent!

Add the slowness, lack of Poker Tracker support, frequent disconnects .... all things that a casual player wouldn't mind but a serious player can't tolerate. End of discussion imo.

Fine...all the loose play at Pacific is because of the connection to Casino on Net (while not in this post, its a fact I am all too aware of).
Funny how Gaming club, Intercasino, Royal Vegas, etc. can't seem to attract the same fishes in their poker rooms. They must have an I.Q. test upon sign-up. Party poker has 20,000 players at times, yet the 2,000 at Pacific must be tenfold in stupidity.....Party is loose, but not on this level.
Also amazing how a poker table full of consistantly juicy action is deemed not worth it compared to a site full of bonus whores grinding out at a 25% flop rate.
One table of Pacific fish is worth 3 tables of Absolute rocks anyday. And the more slick multitabling 'pros' that stay away because their software gadgets wont work, the better (ever think that your opponents there are at the same disadvantage? You may have to play some real poker with your own mind! forbid!)
I'm no fan of the place; I think its run by some crooked bastards sometimes. But money is money, and the easier the better.....and easy it is.
I'm still looking for my $750 in bonuses........

Adding a Pacific table is like adding only 1/2 a table somewhere else because the games are so much slower. So if you are comfortable with say, 4 tables but not with 5 you can still increase your earn with minimal added decision making/stress.

Getting money from referring friends doesn't count. We are talking about deposit bonuses.
