I'm not going to answer your question. I'm simply going to point out how interesting it is that you are in a tough spot. Think about this. You have top pair good kicker, but you are having trouble playing your hand. Why is that?

It' because you are out of position against an opponent showing strength. How do you feel if the guy coldcalls and you flop the ace? You feel golden. You practically know you're ahead, don't you? You know how to play your hand. You have the best hand. You bet. Instead, that 1 extra small bet has caused you a world of pain. You've flopped great, but you're still unsure. What if he has aces? AK? Your whole world becomes about not losing too much.

This is just another lesson in the power of position, and a reinforcement of how much better a 3-bet is to a coldcall preflop. Next time you're thinking about coldcalling with 88 or KQs or whatever, remember all the good things that you can buy for 1 more small bet, and make sure the tradeoff is worth it.
