Re: Taking a 50k hand shot at the Party 30/60. Feeling a little nervous.
Great Post, Nigel. Well written, and a good insight to the difference between these two games, along with the subtle psychology you have to work through with yourself to move up in limits.
Keep it up. |

Just out of interest?
How many tables do you play at 30/60? |

Re: Taking a 50k hand shot at the Party 30/60. Feeling a little nervous.
I'm not sure I can add much as I am a middle-limit player, but whenever I move up in limits, I try to force myself to play one table at a time. If there are two juicy tables, I sometimes can't resist playing both at the same time.
But I think you can learn so much more because you're sitting out and observing more. It speeds up the process of getting comfortable with the new limit. I thought I would pass this along because from your posts it is clear that you have good observation skills, and that it is clear you will succeed in the long run. By taking it slow at first, you lessen the chance of hitting a bad stretch coupled with some plays that turned out to be wrong because you couldn't accurately pin your opponent's range of hands in a spot. Anyway, that might not be very helpful, but I wish you the best of luck in your move and I'd love to see more posts on how you fare, as they are inspiring to a mid-limit player who hopes to keep moving up over time. |
