This is a fascinating idea and might work especially since it is a skin of UB so player base is already there.

Do you have any idea how much the dividends could be...say I played 30000 hands (2-4NL) in 3 months?

[/ QUOTE ]

I would love to predict what the first dividend will be but it all depends on how many people sign up and I would hate to guess and get it wrong.

The more people playing the higher the profit margin which means we can distribute more to the players.

However, as it will take a couple of months for money to be made the first divdend might not be as high as we would like, therefore, there is the possibilty that we will prime the dividend pool with $1,000,000.

But remember, we are offering everything else the other sites have on offer AND MORE!

If you are a high volume player then this should interest you. As a special launch promotion, we are giving away 10 World Poker Tour seats to the $10,000 buy-in event at the Commerce Casino LA Poker Classic in California. The FIRST TEN players to earn 120,000 SharePoints will automatically win a seat and the chance to win millions of dollars. This event takes place between the dates of February 17th and 21st 2006.

WHEN are the "dividends" distributed?

HOW are the "dividends" distributed? Cash? more UB points?

After a distribution, are everyone's points reset to zero?

[/ QUOTE ]

The dividends will be distributed every three months.

The divdends will be paid directly into your PokerShare.com account. If you wanted to, you could withdraw them straight away.

The points are not reset to zero after distribution, so if you played for weeks at the start and then stopped playing for a couple of months you will still receive dividends as you will always have sharepoints! But the more you play the more sharepoints you get!

They seem to offer all of the bonuses from UB and more, see the following: http://www.pokershare.com/pages/page6.php

hey have a huge signup bonus compared to UB 100% up to $250 and on top of this it appears that they give you 40% of their profits!!!

*edit* After posting this I saw the reply that points are not reset to zero. My thoughts on this:

Since points are not reset, it is in the benefit of the player to earn as many points in the early stages as possible.

For an oversimplified example of this, lets say the same amount of money is brought in during each period, and there is $100 to distribute afterwards. Lets also say you generated half of that money in period 1, but never played again. You would get the following dividends if you shares never reset to 0:

P1: $50
P2: $25
P3: $16.67
P4: $12.50
P5: $10.00
P6: $8.33
P7: $7.14
P8: $6.25
P9: $5.55
P10: $5

Total ~$146

Now, if another player generated the exact same amount of margin that you did, but didn't do it until week 10, he will only receive $5.

So this is basically a 40% rake rebate.

[/ QUOTE ]

Watch out, guys! It is not even a 40% rake rebate. It is a skin of Ultimatebet. Let's say they get 50% of the rake generated (rest goes to Ultimatebet). Then they pay their own expenses leaving 30% of the rake generated as profit (initial marketing/start up costs is often relatively high). Out of that you get 40%, giving you 12% of the rake you generated.

Not exact numbers, but just giving you a idea of how bad this proposal is.

[/ QUOTE ]

Arnfinn, you are correct in saying that it is not a 40% rake rebate. However we offer ALL the bonus everysite has to offer. You can have the traditional rake rebate, you will also recieve a first deposit bonus of 100% up to $250 and shortly we will be offering a reload bonus.

I can assure you we receive a much higher percentage than 50% of the rake from Ultimate.

But remember, we offer everything PLUS this extra 40%!

I did not see anything about rake rebate at your site, so this of course changes the picture (if you have a competitive offer on this). I am still sceptical to the 40% profit thing though since you basically determine your own salaries (you still own 60%) and which suppliers will be used which can be run by the same people (good way to keep money away from the players).

Not accusing you directly of this, you might be a dead honest guy. Just saying that these kind of concepts can easily be exploited this way and IMO you should put forward a high degree of openess on how $s have been spent so far (to estimate downwriting), fixed costs and marginal costs. Also use a credible auditor and make the audits available for the players.

Can you please clarify this statement.

Are you saying I can get my normal rakeback from an affiliate and I can get this profit share thing?
