Is there any evidence that Dutch Boyd was actually involved in the PokerSpot fiasco? Does Greg (or someone) know more that would shed light on this subject?

[/ QUOTE ]

What? Yes, he is the self-admitted owner of PokerSpot, there's not much more evidence needed.

I would not be happy if I won 5 million and got 1.2 million either.

Fortunately Greg bought a third of himself in addition to his players share, so he made several times more than that. I guess it could be worse, at least he's not some no-life loser jealously posting inaccurate drivel driven by some wierd reverse hero worship.

Yes, I am well aware of that. I meant, and I think it is clear given my initial post, that I wanted to know if anyone had evidence implicating Dutch Boyd as actually stealing the funds rather than the reported story that PokerSpot's credit processors had trouble.

Dutch took the player's money and used it to run the site. When he still failed to turn a profit, he lost his money, his investor's money, AND the player's money.

It is quite clear that the player's money should have been kept in a separate account, and never touched other than for taking out the money that belonged to the house (i.e., the rake). Instead, Dutch raided this money to keep himself afloat longer before going under. The player's were made unwilling investors, with no upside in that investment.

Using money that you're holding in trust is the same as stealing it.

Later, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)

Didnt he also give assurances that there were no problems when the cashouts started to bounce meaning some players put in more money and others kept on playing there wasting their time and losing their winnings, I think MS Sunshine came in the latter category.

I dont even know why he is bothering with rakefree cos its going to fall on its backside as whatever he does and he may be a fantastic guy full of good intentions its tough his rep is shot to pieces whatever he does. Once a business fails getting a new one up with the same people running it is always difficult in poker or any other business.

However he created the crew and is obviously an arse.

Commenting on Greg's wife is completely out of the bounds of decent behavior.
This lack of regard likely reflects his attitude towards anyone other than himself.
Poor recommendation for someone who seeks to act as a fiduciary and/or the manager of a business that includes others' investments.

Greg:

If the POS known as Dutch Boyd didn't like me, I would consider it a testament to my good name.
