Re: need play evaluation
[ QUOTE ]
You could raise preflop here as well. [/ QUOTE ] I'm hearing that people will raise with 99 in any position. On the button, I'd raise it for sure. |

Re: need play evaluation
Yepper - you wanna knock thin-drawing hands like 67 out before the flop if possible. Well played otherwise.

[/ QUOTE ] Nines are a big favorite over any hand with a card lower than a 9. You're raising for value. Most people get dealt hands with one card lower than a 9. If both their cards are lower than nine then you are a huge favorite, since they probably have to hit two pair or trips to beat you. At least that's why I think you raise here. I'll let others elaborate if I got part of it wrong. |

Re: need play evaluation
Everyone keeps saying he probably has an 8.. would an 8 really bet into someone who's been representing the Q for the entire hand? Seems like an even fishier play than the 67o the guy probably had.

Re: need play evaluation
There's no reason for villain to think Hero has trips here. Hero could just as easily be betting fives, sixes, sevens, or 4x.
