I completely concur. My wife got me into this show and now I love it. "Angel", the spinoff, is also a great show...actually, overall I think it's a better show than "Buffy" since there are no weak seasons of it, while both the first and last (7th) seasons of "Buffy" are subpar (but still worth seeing). You kinda have to watch the first to get all the background stuff anyway, but most of the really good plotlines (and the best character, Spike) don't show up till season 2. Highly worth watching, and the complete runs of both "Buffy" and "Angel" are available on DVD and thru Netflix. Don't watch "Angel" though until you've seen the first 3 seasons of "Buffy", or you may not get everything that's going on. Buffy season 4 and Angel season 1 kind of intertwine and run concurrently, after which both shows (with the occasional exception) tend to go off in their own direction. Fun stuff.
