Although "Old Men" (hey, I'm becoming one) typically aren't big bluffers or thin value bettors you should check the river and hope he bluffs off a missed flush or value bets a king. When he has an ace you chop or lose to a full so you don't gain by betting. There aren't too many worse hands that call your bet.

BTW, in short pots I find people saying aloud "I need a spade" generally don't need a spade.
